Since 2010, Dr. Rice and Team have actively participated with organizations: Dentist With a Heart and Dentistry From the Heart. Both are dedicated to giving back their time and talent to community residents.
Each February, participating providers of “Dentists With A Heart” open their doors and hearts to help our community members less fortunate. All of us at David Rice DDS are proud and happy to participate in this annual event.
No requirements are necessary – patients are seen on the honor system. We offer one of the following services: filling, extraction or cleaning to each patient so that we can provide care to as many people as we can.
Our office chooses one day and the entire team gives back. Dentists With A Heart advertises in local schools, papers and within community boards. Our office schedules patients starting one month prior to our day of service.
In 2013 we exceeded $6,000, 2014 nearly $7,000, 2015 $6,500 and in 2016 we more than doubled our previous record by providing $15,000 in dental treatments to those in need.
Other Community Service
In addition, Dr. Rice is a donor at Mission of Mercy and our office takes on cases from the Donated Dental Services.
We are happy to support other organizations in our community that also do good to and for others.
For example, in 2015 Dr. Rice and team sponsored a “giving tree” for the Ecker Center that provides an array of outpatient mental health services to the Elgin community. Together we provided gifts for 10 of their clients for the Holiday season.
In 2014 we provided financial support to the Community Crisis Center in Elgin which provides 24-hour services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and other difficult challenges. 
In 2015 we held a food drive to help replenish the food pantry at the Crisis Center after the Holidays. Patients received a complimentary fluoride treatment for bringing in donations. We are grateful for the Crisis Center’s service to our community.
Denise, our Hygienist also donates her time and talent monthly at Willow Creek Church’s dental clinic.
