What this Privacy Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy covers Rice DDS’s treatment of personally identifiable information collected when you are on the Rice DDS Web site and when you use our Web services. In addition, this policy also covers our treatment of any personally identifiable information shared with Rice DDS’s business partners. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Rice DDS does not own or control, nor to people that Rice DDS does not employ or manage.

Information Collection and Use

Rice DDS collects personally identifiable information when you set up a user account and when you visit certain Rice DDS Web pages. When you register online, we ask for your name, subscriber ID and birth date. Once you register with us and login to our services, you are not anonymous to us. By submitting your registration information you indicate that you have read, understand, and agree to the Privacy Policy. Rice DDS also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser including, your IP address, cookie information, and the pages you have requested.

Links to External Sites

At times, we may alert you to information and services offered by others by providing links to their sites on the Rice DDS Web site. These links are only meant to supplement the information or products that we currently offer. Although we will only link to reputable sites, we cannot be responsible for privacy issues or concerns on linked sites. Please refer to that linked site’s privacy policy for specifics regarding how they use your information. We will not share any information about you with any of these sites.

Cookies

Rice DDS’s Web site uses cookies to collect and store personal choices that you request; this functionality allows you to see unique information that you’ve requested. While your browser may allow you to reject cookies, our Web site requires that you accept all cookies in order for the Web site features and security mechanisms to function fully. A cookie is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser, that may then store it on your system. A cookie does not retrieve any data from your hard drive, carry computer viruses, or capture your e-mail address.

Two types of cookies are used: persistent cookies and temporary cookies. Our site uses temporary session cookies to assist us in securing your activities and to enhance the performance of our Web site. The cookie stores a temporary session ID that allows the site to recognize that a page request has come from someone who has already logged on. Once you leave Rice DDS’s Web site, the temporary cookie we place on your computer expires, and is deleted from your computer. Persistent cookies help a site remember you as a previous visitor and can enhance your use of a Web site by saving your passwords and preferences (such as the Privacy Notice) while you are on the site. Persistent cookies are continually stored on your computer for future use (until your cookies are manually deleted).
