Elgin and South Elgin dentist Dr. Rice is committed to providing patients with outstanding skill and stays current with the latest techniques and technologies. He is a recognized mentor by the Center for Advanced Dental Learning, an achievement awarded to fewer than 120 dentists worldwide. He is also a Mentor (CI) at the prestigious Kois Center (Seattle, WA), a world-renowned post graduate training institute. He has achieved the highest level, accomplished by fewer than 25 dentists worldwide. In this role, he serves as a resource for fellow dentists for guidance related to restorative excellence and techniques.
In addition to being certified to provide IV and oral sedation, Dr. Rice is an experienced speaker and a member of the American Dental Association, American Equilibration Society, and Illinois State dental society, and the Chicago dental society.
David Rice was named Outstanding Senior in Oral Medicine by the American Academy of Oral Medicine when he graduated from University of Illinois School of Dentistry. He began private practice while serving on the University’s faculty in the Department of Oral Diagnosis. He relocated to Elgin, IL in 1986 and established a comprehensive care practice with particular emphasis in sedation dentistry, dental implants, general dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. Whether he is wearing his dental implant dentist hat, his cosmetic dentist hat, his sedation dentist hat, any other hat, or even multiple hats at once, Dr. Rice will do what is best to achieve the results that benefit the whole patient.
In 2013, Dr. Rice was inducted into the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. This is an honor that is not given lightly. In fact, only 165 dentists have been awarded membership into the AARD. The mission of the Academy is to promote the improvement of the health of the public, and the quality of the art and science of restorative dentistry.
Dr. Rice places a strong emphasis on his continuing education. He broadens his skills in esthetic and restorative dentistry through completion of numerous advanced courses and symposiums. Check out our blog for his latest certification, and continuing education classes. By furthering his education and sharpening his skills, Dr. Rice is able to bring the best in dentistry to his patients in the St. Charles, Bartlett and Elgin, IL area.
Dr. Rice is grateful for the loving support of his wife, Marge and his 4 adult children: Erica, Brittany, Daniel, and Matthew. He is a grandfather of 12. His family gives him encouragement and supports his passion to provide others with excellent dentistry and care.
