Meet Dr. David Rice
Elgin and South Elgin Dentist Dr. Rice is committed to providing patients with outstanding skill and stays current with the latest techniques and technologies. He is a recognized mentor by the Center for Advanced Dental Learning, an achievement awarded to fewer than 120 dentists worldwide. He is also a Mentor (C1) at the prestigious Kois Center (Seattle, WA), a world-renowned post graduate training institute. He has achieved the highest level, accomplished by fewer than 25 dentists worldwide. In this role, he serves as a resource for fellow dentists for guidance related to restorative excellence and techniques.
In addition to being certified to provide IV and oral sedation, Dr. Rice is an experienced speaker and a member of the American Dental Association, American Equilibration Society, and Illinois State dental society, and the Chicago dental society.
David Rice was named Outstanding Senior in Oral Medicine by the American Academy of Oral Medicine when he graduated from University of Illinois School of Dentistry. He began private practice while serving on the University’s faculty in the Department of Oral Diagnosis. He relocated to Elgin, IL in 1986 and established a comprehensive care practice with particular emphasis in sedation dentistry, dental implants, general dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. Whether he is wearing his dental implant dentist hat, his cosmetic dentist hat, his sedation dentist hat, any other hat, or even multiple hats at once, Dr. Rice will do what is best to achieve the results that benefit the whole patient.
Dr. Rice places a strong emphasis on his continuing education. He broadens his skills in esthetic and restorative dentistry through completion of numerous advanced courses and symposiums. Check out our blog for his latest certification, and continuing education classes.

Hygienist - Denise has been in the Dental field since 2001. Her passion for dentistry began in an endodontic office, where patient interaction drew her into a career in dental hygiene. She graduated as Valedictorian from the 2006 UIC/KKC Dental Hygiene Program. Denise has since been practicing in periodontics and general dentistry. She is a true people person and is dedicated to providing the utmost in comfort and care for her patients. Denise enjoys spending time with her husband Jim, family and friends. She also loves traveling, cooking, and reading.
Office Coordinator - Chandra became a member of Dr. Rice’s office team in July 2008. She truly enjoys working in a positive and comforting work environment and strives to provide everyone with an amazing experience in Dr. Rice's office. Chandra is certified in patient monitoring for nitrous and IV sedation procedures. She currently lives in Elgin with her husband Tim and two children: Trevor and Ally. She has the BEST black lab, Zofia. They are active campers and love to travel the US and Canada. Her passion outside of her family is yoga and meditation.
Dental Assistant - Shannon started as an assistant in Dr. Rice's office in May 1999. Through extensive on-the-job dental and hygiene training and continuing education courses, she has the qualifications and experience to better serve patients. She is an expanded duty assistant with certifications in sealant placement, coronal polishing (children and adults) and patient monitoring for nitrous and IV sedation procedures. Shannon prides herself in her relationships with her patients. She enjoys kickboxing and long walks.
Dental Assistant – Kate joined Dr. Rice’s team in January 2012. She has been in the customer service field for over 10 years. More than anything, she truly loves helping people and making them happy. This past year she received her certificate for coronal polishing and is excited to further herself in the dental field. She adores her son, and spends mostly all her free time with him. She enjoys cooking, finding new adventures for her family to do, and learning new things.

Dr. Rice is grateful for the loving support of his wife, Marge, and his 4 children, Erica, Brittany, Daniel, and Matthew. He is a soon to be grandfather and is excited for his daughter Erica and son-in-law Josh for the birth of their first child. His family gives him encouragement and supports his passion to provide others with excellent dentistry and care.
